The installer is not available yet. LibTrack is in use at one school and is not being handed out more widely while it is still changing week to week. The demo is the same application, complete, and needs nothing installed.

For when it is published: Windows will warn you about this installer, and it is right to. LibTrack is not code-signed yet — a signing certificate needs a registered business, which this does not have. SmartScreen therefore shows “Windows protected your PC” for it, exactly as it would for anything it has not seen before.

To continue: click More info, then Run anyway. If you would rather not, that is a completely reasonable decision — the browser demo installs nothing.

Verify what you downloaded

Since the installer is unsigned, checking it yourself is the honest alternative. Open PowerShell in your Downloads folder and run:

The checksum is published alongside each release, so you will be able to compare it when downloads open.

Installing

Run the installer and choose a folder. It installs for the current user, so no administrator password is needed.
Sign in with admin / admin123. LibTrack forces you to change that on the first login.
On first run it offers a set of demo data. Take it to look around, or skip it to start empty.

Updates

LibTrack checks for a new version on launch and installs it the next time the app restarts. If there is no internet it stays on the version it has and says nothing — a library with a dead connection should still open in the morning.

Requirements

Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit.
A USB barcode scanner is ideal but optional — a webcam works, and so does typing an ID.
No internet connection, no server, and no account.
