LibTrack holds records about schoolchildren. That deserves a plain answer rather than a page of hedging, so here it is.

The desktop app

Everything stays on the library's computer. Student names, sections, attendance times, loans and fines live in a single SQLite file in that PC's user folder, along with its automatic backups. Nothing is uploaded, and there is no account, no server and no telemetry.

The app opens a network connection in exactly two situations:

• Looking up an ISBN. When cataloguing a book you may ask LibTrack to fetch its title and author from openlibrary.org. Only the ISBN is sent. Nothing about a student or the library is included, and typing the details in by hand works just as well.
• Checking for an update. On launch the app asks GitHub whether a newer release exists. That request carries no personal data. With no internet, nothing happens and the app carries on.

Both are ordinary web requests, so the other end sees the school's IP address, as it would for any website. Neither can identify a student.

Who is responsible for the records

The school is. LibTrack is a tool that runs on the school's own hardware, like a spreadsheet — the developer has no access to any installation, its data or its backups, and no way to obtain them. Under the Philippines' Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173) the school remains the personal information controller for everything it records.

This website

• No accounts, no cookies set by us, no advertising, no trackers.
• The host records standard web-server logs (IP address, page, timestamp) as every web host does.
• Downloads are served by GitHub, which applies its own privacy policy.

The live demo

The demo runs entirely inside your browser tab. Its database is built in memory when the page loads and is gone the moment you close or refresh it. Nothing you type there is transmitted anywhere — the demo has no server to transmit it to.

Questions about a specific school's data should go to that school's librarian or administration, who hold it.
